Eastbound Lanes of Highway 401 Closed After Tractor-Trailer Crash
A fiery crash involving a tractor-trailer has closed a stretch of Highway 401 in Whitby. The crash has shut down the highway in both directions from exit 406 Lake Ridge Road/County Road 23 to exit 410.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a wrong-way police chase on Highway 401 in Whitby captured on a driver's dashcam led to a fatal crash. A female has died, and a child has been airlifted to SickKids Hospital following a serious two-vehicle collision in Uxbridge on Monday.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Whitby were also closed for several hours on Monday evening due to a crash involving a tractor-trailer.
The OPP are urging drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
