Denver Broncos QB Carousel Continues: Bridgewater to Start, Wilson Out
The Denver Broncos are once again in a state of flux at the quarterback position.
Just days after trading for nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson, the Broncos have announced that Teddy Bridgewater will be their starting quarterback for the 2023 season.
The move comes as a surprise to many, as Wilson was widely expected to be the Broncos' starter after being acquired from the Seattle Seahawks in March. However, Wilson is still recovering from a shoulder injury that he suffered in Week 6 of the 2022 season.
Bridgewater, on the other hand, has been healthy and has impressed the Broncos' coaching staff with his play in training camp. He started 14 games for the Broncos in 2021 and led them to a 7-7 record.
The Broncos are hoping that Bridgewater can provide them with some stability at the quarterback position. The team has been through a revolving door of quarterbacks in recent years, with John Elway, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Teddy Bridgewater, Drew Lock, and Brett Rypien all starting games for the team since 2015.
